With his elegant, dark coat and a great sense of rhythm, Sir Sly enhances the High Level Auction. The eight-year-old gelding is in training for the higher-level dressage movements and can perform them under his rider Dries van Dyck; at the same time, they can already be ridden by less experienced riders. He accepts the bit easily, remains light in the poll, and can be ridden equally well on both snaffle and double bridle. His current training work explains the relatively low competition activity of Sir Sly in recent years; when younger, he regularly placed in developing-level tests against strong competition. Overall, Sir Sly can be seen not only as a prototype of the current High Level Auction concept due to his overall presence, but also as an example of the new possibilities for collaboration. He was purchased as a four-year-old by Oliver Cordes at an Oldenburg riding horse auction, partly trained by him, before being moved at seven years old to Westphalia’s Münsterland for further education, from where Sir Sly now enriches the Verden Auction.
