A look at Alfonso’s pedigree reveals a clear focus on show jumping. Nevertheless, the compact bay found his way into dressage. Even as a foal, Alfonso stood out with his generous forehand mechanics, nurturing the idea of his aptitude for dressage from an early age. He has retained this very movement style, combining a closed, balanced way of going in trot and canter with a medium stride length and a constant, pleasant uphill tendency. Now nine years old, Alfonso has so far been used only sparingly in competition sport, but in 2025 he achieved a successful entry into Medium (M) level with his trainer Ann-Christin Feix. He confidently masters the required movements for this level and presents a sporty, harmonious silhouette with his compact build and well-developed upper neck musculature. Alfonso is part of the Verden High Level Auction, as the owner family of Gestüt Tannenhof wishes to slightly reduce the number of advanced, trained riding horses while continuing the horses’ education under optimal conditions up to the day of the auction.
